I just recieved a nice .32 hand ejector in Nickel #39815. When was it made? Bore is almost perfect but a few oxydation spots (no flaking) on the finish. What is the best method or product to polish out these? No buffing away with a wheel but just some patient hand work.

thanks,
Ischia

Flitz metal polish paste, a cotton or flannel rag and lots of patience. Use Q-tips and cotton balls for the tight spots. Don't rub any more than necessary, especially on the areas that are still good. Flitz also leaves a slight residue that will slow a repeat of the 'milky' look.

If you are talking about a 32 S&W Long and not a 32 Winchester, you have a 32 Hand Ejector Model of 1903, First Change. These revolvers were made from 1904 to 1906, with serial number range from 19,426 to 51,126. With yours being in the middle of the range, probably shipped in 1905.

glowe is dead-on right. Just received my letter today for #44xxx which says it shipped June 29, 1906.

ischia, Welcome to the Forum. If your gun is a .32 hand Ejector, Model of 1903, then serial number 39815 was part of an order for 100 nickel plated revolvers manufactured on Feb. 12,1906. You will need a factory historical letter from Roy Jinks, Factory Historian, to determine when, where and in what configuration the gun was shipped. Ed.
