I'm not a Sig-guy, but don't they also make a single stack about the same size as the 3913?
SIG makes the P239, which is a really nice pistol...it is heavier, and around $200 more, depending on the model. It is still in production, while the 3rd generation S&Ws are not, if that matters. The P239 has an 8 round capacity (in 9mm) just like the 3913.
Thanks for the info. I managed to find this interesting set of comparison photos showing the P239, P7M8 and 3913...
I can't speak to the P7M8, but I have had both the P239 (no longer have it) and the 3913 (still have it.) SIGs are quality pistols, and field stripping is very easy. The P239 is heavy, especially for CCW. Both pistols are very reliable. Of the two, I prefer the 3913 for CCW, with the weight being the tie breaker for me.
Based on my internet search I believe the P7M8 weighs slightly more (about 30 ounces with an empty mag) than the P239 (which seems to come in closer to 29.5 ounces), but that's pretty comparable. I love the P7 family, but they aren't feather weights. No doubt the light weight of the 3913 makes it very comfortable to carry.
