Hey Folks!
I have a question about the 3rd gen sights. I have 2 4566 and a 1006 with what appears to be Novak type sights.
When you loosen the allen head screw on the rear sight should the sight loosen up completely? As in I completely removed it and the sights wont move. Just wanted to make sure before I start trying to tapp on it to adjust it.
Also is there a way to reactivate the night sights that are on one of the 4566?
Thanks before hand for all the comments and suggestions to come!
Take care and God Bless all....HT

Yes, even after loosening the set screw, the rear sight is very tight.

Yes, the lamps can be replaced by Trijicon. Go here Trijicon Night Sights. It checked a few months ago and I think it was around $70.00. You need only ship them the slide.

Be VERY CAREFUL when working with the rear sight, underneath of it are the Safety Plunger and Spring, and the Firing Pin Safety Plunger & Spring.

The rear sight is what retains them in the slide and they are under spring pressure... if you should give the sight a good whack trying to adjust it and the sight breaks free, it could suddenly move far enough and uncover those parts, and possibiity result in the launching of those little suckers off to places unknown.
