I've got a question regarding my S&W 432PD and I'm hoping that there is a simple explanation or fix before this goes to the gunsmith. I was dry firing (with snap caps) my 432 and I short stroked it. When I released the trigger to pull it again, I feel a bit of a stoppage before the trigger will pull. The trigger still works, but it feels like the trigger has to clear a small catch or hitch before it will start its normal rearward travel. I tried locking and unlocking the gun and opening and closing the cylinder. So...long story short, has anyone experienced this before and is this an easy fix? Thanks!

I am not sure what you are referring to (short stroke) but if you think you have broken something inside the gun, and that would seem unlikely, stop using it. If you know how to remove the sideplate for cleaning, take it off and have a look for anything out of the ordinary. It is possible you may have broken a pivot (the frame-mounted stud) for the hammer or trigger. It does happen from time to time. Hope that is not the case! :o
