S&W 45 Hand Ejector??

I saw this 45 for sale and it is marked as a S&W hand ejector but I'm not sure about that. Barrel is marked Smith & Wesson Springfield Mass USA. Patented Dec. 17, 1901, Feb. 6,1906, Sept. 14, 1909. No S&W side plate markings. Ordnance bomb on the left side of the frame behind the cylinder. Bottom of the barrel is marked United States Property. Barrel S/N 61053 matches the cylinder and bottom of the butt S/N. Crane and frame # is 20872, frame marked K.

Any advice would be appreciated.

Very likely a S&W Model 1917, from WWI. It is chambered for .45 ACP. 1917s were made during WWI, and in several commercial guises until after WWII. In good condition, these are very desirable. Colt also made a Model 1917 in .45 ACP for military service during WWI. They are not identical, but similar in intent and appearance.
