Nice find! I am going out on a limb and would make a comparison in price similar to an upper end all metal gun (there aren't too many made now days; CZ, EAA, 1911's) of between $650-900. I bought a used 4566TSW for $450 last year. I know that in recent weeks gun prices have gone thru the roof. Its a sellers market when it comes to guns right now.
To counter my last paragraph, the rage today seems to be polymer guns, ie Ruger SR9, Springfield XD and my pers fav S&W M&P .45.
Their prices are in the $400-600 range.

I'd hate to quote a price under today's current craze, but my LEO trade-in 4566 was $389 a couple of years ago.

I just bought a 4506 in NRA excellent for $680.00. Don't know if that's a good price, but i was satisfied.

I bought a very nice 4586TSW for $400 here in VA a couple days ago. I would pay about $550 for a similar condition 4506.

oh well Id of thought that pristine new and unfired would have been more sought after than that but oh well I just got em home and we will just see what happens and I guess if none the better Ive got 3 new 45s to go out and see how they shoot.

There are several versions of each, and value differs accordingly. Do they have box and papers? If so, condition of box and papers? Need more informaion.

Would love to see some pics of your new smiths. I would say if these guns are NIB like you say, they would bring $800 to $1000 where I live. Best of luck.

i just bought an SW 99 45 for $675 new. Any idea if that was a decent price?
Also, is there a difference between the 45 and the 45 ACP?
Thx in advance.

537, I have no idea what SW 99 in .45 acp are going for, but as to your second question ALL Smith .45 autos that I am aware of are chambered for .45 ACP. There are a few models of various brands (but mostly Glocks) that are chambered for the shorter .45 GAP (Glock Auto Pistol) - this ammo should NOT be fired in you SW99.

well the reason this situation existed as I understand it was the gun dealer with the FFL was also a deputy on the sherriffs department and years ago thses were the weapons being used and the sherriff dept was having him order them in for the dept. and several years back the sherriff dept switched over to a completely different weapon and chambering and these 3 ended up not being used by the sherriff dept and I ended up with them after all these years.
