Without knowing your location it is hard to say. Local geographical areas contribute to differences in sales price. In my area of central to north Florida such a gun would probably command a $650 price.

Offer $500 and see what he says, but be prepared to spend more.

Thank you for the reply. Location is northern NV. Gator Navy in 1960's.

I purchased a model 48-4 last month in about 98% condition here in N GA for $629. This was without the box and I was still happy to get it for this price.

48-4

Thanks to all for the replies on the 48-4. Gun is on consignment with asking price on the high 700's so don't think that I will be able to buy it for much less.

If it has the three "T"s, it may be worth it, but it is priced at about the max value. I paid that much for mine as I wanted a N.I.B. collectable and not a shooter. At Reno last summer, I bought a near mint, second month production M48 no dash for $625, so I guess things even out over time. I had been looking for a 4 screw M48 for quite some time, and most I saw were very pricey. Gentleman just walked up to my table. Talk about luck. Big Larry
