I'm no fan of super light competition only action jobs, but if that's what you want then Mike Carmoney does some of the best work out there. The DA will be very light and you won't recognize your hammer anymore. I just examined an 8 shooter that a local shooter had sent to him. The work is excellent and the shooter got the gun back in only a week. The wait time with most other gunsmiths is usually around five months. Carmoney occasionally posts on this forum and can be found on the Brian Enos forum.

I have to agree, Mike Carmoney is the man. I just received one of his guns and it's the smoothest action job I've ever had. A close second, and only but one or two onces is Apex Tactical in Ca. Randy Lee did 5 of my guns and I love his work.

Mike's gun I got used and I'm glad I was able to pick it up.

Nelson Ford in Scottsdale, Az also does great work. He will not let a trigger out of his shop that is not seven lbs. He's been my friend and gunsmith for nearly 30 years.

Triggers don't have to be light, they have to be smooth and reliable.

I've now put 2500 rounds through my new gun without a misfire.

Yep. 4.38 lbs

Mike Carmoney does excelent work. However, I have lightened and smoothed the DA trigger by simply installing a Wolf reduced power mainspring and a 14 lb rebound slide spring - works well for me.
