S&W 657 Mountain Gun

Not a mountain gun, but a nice addition to my .41 mag stable.

Nice find...if I had to divest myself of all the S&W .41s I have this would be one of the last to go...the balance is just excellent and with the round butt grips can be had to fit almost any hand.

Bought a set of Herrett's Detective grips for it last summer...fits my hand perfect. If carried for a defense gun, would recommend one of the makers who use the Barnes all copper HP rounds... Less recoil, immediate expansion but deeper penetration than the typical cup and core HP... If looking for a nice not overly expensive holster try the DeSantis Speed Scabbard...

Very nice! I finally broke down and bought some .41 Magnum target ammo online...$49/box of 50!. Prices are coming down a little, but $1/round? Almost impossible to find ammo locally, and when I do it's like $60+/box. Might have to consider getting a Dillon 550 package...my wife will be thrilled with me having another pricey hobby!

Nice find. Bought mine a couple of years ago, put VZ grips on it. Davis leather 4532 for a holster.
