After pushing the cylinder release on my 7 shot S & W 686 plus (7 Shot) 357 mag, my cylinder is stuck (won't open at all. It rotates correctly. I just can't get it to open. Iv'e only shot about 200 rounds thru this gun. Had it about 3 months. I keep it very clean. any ideas before I ship it off to S & W ?

I suspect that the ejector rod has loosened and needs to be tightened. I use the wooden wedge I got at armoreres sshool to jam the elector rod. Use a business to wedge between the cylinder stop and cylinder and rotate the cylinder clock wise looking from the rear until it tightens up and then remove the wedge. Now the cylinder should open. DO NOT use pliers to tighten the ejector rod, take it to a qualified gunsmith for that task.

Take a small screwdriver and put between the end of the ejector rod and the latch and the cylinder should open for you and then tighten it up.
