S&W 9mm Shields have unsupported chamber?

Well, change of plans. I went to the range and fored several other brands of 124 gr +P factory ammo, plus some of my own loads of XTP 124 at max load of Power Pistol.

None of these cases bulged.

So it appears it is the one brand which is a LEO Duty Round. I do not plan on shooting that many of those or even +P ammo at the range. It's a carry gun and will not see lots of use.

Based on the difficulty reaching SW and hearing how long they are taking, I think I will just hold on to the gun and not send it in and have them hold it for weeks and then say there is nothing wrong:rolleyes:

I sectioned a spent cartridge with a dremel and took some pictures of my 40 shield barrel. I certainly wouldn't call it 'fully supported'. I have about 400 rounds through my shield and I cannot detect any bulging in the brass.

I dont know where you got those pics from but ive got my Glock M36 barrel in my lap with a round in it. Too much powder in your round, thats a set up shot, over twenty years with this model and thousands of rounds never this BS- this is a scare tactic. Never seen this at ANY range in ANY state ive shot at- bovine excrement en extremis

Is everybody missing the point? I don't have a Shield owner's manual to look at, but my other manuals from other companies state "Don't fire reloaded ammo in our guns. Just factory new". We also don't allow reloads on our range, as we don't know if they were reloaded correctly, or by Bubba in the basement. GARY

I post the pic to ask a question no scare tactic intended. I pay close attention to stuff like this now as my Shield 40 blew up in my face. I did just buy a Glock 30SF and I love it.
