Victory Officers Model is the name given by the Green Machine to the post-war M&P, as described on page 206 of the SCSW 5th ed.

In a post from some time back ( USMC Victory Officer's Model ) it is mentioned that Max Hayward penned an article for the SWCA Journal about these guns; can anyone direct me to that article. I have almost a complete collection of back issues, just need to know where to look.

Picked up an M&P today that I believe is one of these and need to start doing the background research.

Also, anyone know if there is an index to back copies of the SWCA Journal?

Best,

RM,
There is an index for the Journal. It is titled Journal Index. Just looked at it under resources and found your article.
Volume 42 #3. 2008-09-14. Hayward, Max author. Title: Victory Officers Model. Description: .38 M&Ps 4", wrongly called Victory as shipped in 1953/4.

DWalt, that's the post I made years ago. Still have the revolver. Luck was with me that day.

In this May 1958 you can plainly see a WWII Vixtory holster being worn by a Marine NCO (???) making sure his Marines are ready. They were departing Cherry.Point and leaving for Guantanamo, Cuba (Castro didn't take over until January 1959). The picture suggests that he could have been carrying a subject revolver in the holster.
