I have been a S&W revolver fan for many years. In recent years I have purchased 3 S&W gen 3 semis (3913, 4006 and 5906) and now I am hooked. In looking at guns for sale pictures I have noticed that some of the blued gen 3 models appear to have a green tint. I have seen a couple where the slide and frame both appeared to have a green tint. Some of these guns for sale ads stated the guns were totally original. Is this caused by lighting or other optical illusions or could this mean a reblue? Thanks for your help. S&WTom

Photos under florescent lighting can sometimes give a green tint to the object in the photo. This was a real problem when using daylight film before the digital age. With my digital camera under the florescent lights in the garage, photos of my 3rd Gens come out pretty good. However, I have noticed that S/S 3rd Gens tend to pick up a little color or hue from close colorful surroundings, e.g., red or green velvet.
