Thought this might help some on our forum.

Many trying to get 10 rnd mags. 12 rnd seem to be available. If you can get 12 rnd mags and need to convert to 10 rnd to be in compliance, see attached photo. Just insert a spent 22lr casing into the mag spring as shown . Or if you have a 10 rnd mag and would like a 12, simply remove the factory installed spacer .

I don't think that method of turning a 12 rounder into a 10 rounder would fly when held up to a law book or in the court of law.

That method is what was used in shotguns during hunting season to get the capacity down to the maximum limit. The problem with using the same logic on a handgun is that all the laws I've seen are written so that the capacity of the magazine can't be easily changed by the owner. I certainly wouldn't want to test the law with a mag slug when the penalty for an illegal mag in those states with those restrictions is usually a felony. ;)

The method I show , is really no different than a factory made mag. It has an easily removed spacer. The thumb assist button slot is the same length also. So the factory mag is just as easily converted.
I will not argue the legality in this hyper sensitive political time.
I'm just sayin'

First, there's no picture so "as shown" does not apply.

If you're referring to the M&P 22, this is old news.

Sorry, I missed the part where you were talking about a .22. In the words of Rosanne Rosannadanna, "Never mind":D

The OP is referring to the M&P 22 magazines. I've read somewhere that the new 10 rounds magazines have that spacer epoxied in and they were having trouble taking then apart to clean them.

Sorry, you are correct sir. I did not mention M&P22 mags .
Thank you
