S&W M&P PCC

The folding mechanism appears to be secured by a simple latch. I'm not comfortable with the barrel/bolt junction depending upon a latch...but when it involves pressure in the 35K+ psi range, I prefer to be conservative.
Millions of break action rifles and shotguns made over the last 150 years prove that a latch can be plenty. I am sure there are African big game hunters shooting huge cartridges out of break action rifles who would be surprised by your concern.

The concern is that this is the "Smith & Wesson M&P Pistols" forum. The FPC seems like more of a handgun with a stock and longer barrel than a rifle modified to shoot 9mm so this seems like a good place to talk about it to me. But I have had a couple of infractions for posting in the wrong forums over the years so I might not be the best judge of that.
It would cost you nothing to simply not open or read a thread that you don't like, let alone bother commenting and thus bump the thread back to the top.

Someone asked why people where complaining about this not being a pistol and I answered his question. If you were to actually read the reply you quoted you will see where I said I thought discussing it here was fine. And if you look through the other thread about the FPC in this forum you will see I am interested in this gun and discussing it. If you don't like this thread being bumped to the top you should heed your own advice.

I handled the S&W FPC for the first time yesterday at my son's gun store. Pretty cool! Much better quality than the KelTec (which they also sell) and the Hi Point carbines. It has a lot of great features for $600+. 6 lbs. with a threaded 16" barrel is nice. This would make a nice beginner PCC competition gun, or a great folding car gun. If I didn't really love my SIG MPX Gen II, I'd consider getting one of these. It would compliment my S&W M&Ps and can share magazines.

What did they have it priced at?

Like anything new, I'm sure we will have to wait for them to be out awhile to get decent pricing. MSRP is $659, but grab a gun shows them at $800, although they don't have any. Rural King shows them at $590 but doesn't have any either. Looks like the only place they are actually being sold is GB for about $800.

His store is selling them for less than MSRP...$624.95. Can't beat that deal!

I picked mine up at Sportsman's Warehouse for $600.
Palmetto State Armory is selling them for &600 also,.but you can't ever get to them before they are sold out.
