Millions of break action rifles and shotguns made over the last 150 years prove that a latch can be plenty. I am sure there are African big game hunters shooting huge cartridges out of break action rifles who would be surprised by your concern. The folding mechanism appears to be secured by a simple latch. I'm not comfortable with the barrel/bolt junction depending upon a latch...but when it involves pressure in the 35K+ psi range, I prefer to be conservative.
It would cost you nothing to simply not open or read a thread that you don't like, let alone bother commenting and thus bump the thread back to the top.The concern is that this is the "Smith & Wesson M&P Pistols" forum. The FPC seems like more of a handgun with a stock and longer barrel than a rifle modified to shoot 9mm so this seems like a good place to talk about it to me. But I have had a couple of infractions for posting in the wrong forums over the years so I might not be the best judge of that.
