Recently pick up a 625-3 3" even sold a XD to buy it. This is my first Moonclip 45. Got it for a good price. What do you guys think about it? Are the pachmayer grips original? The pictures i see online usually have them so I assume the are original. Any issues with reliablity?

They are fantastic guns. No issues, in fact I don't even use moonclips in mine. The rubber grips were standard, but I put on a set of period correct combat stocks on mine:

Model 1989?....I own one just like it..yes the Pachmayrs are factory.

These are new enough they have S&W's N frame durability/reliability or whatever they call it improvements. Not for sure just what all that entails...but a larger cylinder bolt notchs are part of it.

I hauled my 3" 625 around with me today...but honestly have not fired it in two or three years. I bet it still works..

Another stevie likes his also. No issues, got my moon clips from Ranch Products.

I think you would like my model 25 in 45 Colt better. I'm in a position to trade. ;-)

Seriously that is a great gun, if you decide to give it up please put me at the top of the list.

Funny, but I was just thinking about one of those last night, and here it is! Nice piece!

Rubbers are correct on the 625. I put nills on mine. It is a great gun. Probably going to shoot it tomorrow

They are amazingly fun to shoot guns...you'll love it. I had one for a long time and foolishly traded it. I wish I could find another mint condition one, I'd scarf it up in a heartbeat.

I have one just like this one, but with the bit larger combat grips that S&W makes.

A very good gun!

Strange thing is mine has no markings on the barrel. Same flash chromed trigger and hammer but no barrel markings.

Barrel markings are laser etched, not very durable and easy to remove if someone wanted to.

I have a 3" 625-4. The only visible difference is the color case hammer and trigger, unless I'm missing something. This is my favorite revolver and the one I carry concealed when I grab a full size gun. It's a better gun than even my 625 SAC Mountain Gun, which is seeing more safe time lately. Despite the short barrel, it will still shoot a 255 gr. bullet over 900 FPS. But...

My 2" 625 is almost ready. I can't wait to wring this one out and see if it will be worth the time and money spent. For now though, the 3" 625 still reigns supreme in my world.
