Saw this pistol NIB local today. Owner was saying this was a limited production of 500 and a good investment for a collector. What are thoughts of this group? They were asking $1,350. Will this pistol have an added value opportunity because of limited run? Thanks in advance.

It's a current production revolver. It likely will have collector value if it is kept NIB and kept for many, many years.

I didn't realize they did a 6" variant as well. Just checked pricing and $1350 is the low side of online offers. Cool they did this. I like where their head is. However, at that price point there's other, cooler in my opinion, Smiths I'd rather chase.

Thanks everyone, learning so much on this site.

Wingmaster, thanks for the frank insight.

I doubt it'll ever be collectible, but $1350 is a very good (but not crazy low) price. Judging by Midway USA's advertised price, $1399 is probably MAP.

Buying commemoratives and/or guns made to be "collectible" is usually a fool's errand, and is especially concerning with new stuff.

I agree with the above posts. The only Commemoratives I've ever purchased were those that commemorated the agency I am now retired from as well as the Winchester 94 "Legendary Lawmen" purchased new when I was in college. I bought them to enjoy (and they're still unfired) which is the only reason I can think of to buy them. I don't buy firearms to sell anyway.
