I've been after a shooter 520 for a while, and it finally happened. A big thank you to PNY UP for a very clean S&W. I'm low on .357 ammo, but I'll be cranking out a batch today.

I would love a 520, perfect companion to a 58, or perhaps vise versa. They are both N frame duty driven, no frills, fixed sighted firearms. Right up my alley they are!

Congrats on landing yours!

I had both and sold the 520 because I didn't think I'd ever shoot it due to its history and condition.

I kept the 58 and love it.

That gun looks like it just left the factory to me! I would not describe it as shooter grade.

I was certainly impressed when I first saw it at my FFL's store. So were the counter jockeys.

I put some rounds together yesterday, because I've not loaded any .357 in a while. To my disappointment I found I had practically exhausted my stash of 158 gr. bullets by using them for plinking rounds in my .35 Remington rifle. Then it was off to the range.

Without a doubt this is now my hands down favorite .357 Magnum. I'm a huge Model 58 fan, because I enjoy the fixed sight design so much. Honestly, had I known how much I would enjoy shooting a 520 I would have never let my other NIB 520 stay a safe queen all these years.

Isn't this sad. A new gun on hand, and this is all the ammo I can make at the moment.

Sorry you don't have more .357 ammo. I have a "respectable" stash of .357 and .41 Magnum.

My Model 58.

And my M&P 45 are my two favorite shooters and I'm a better
shot with the 58.

With only being fired 102 times since leaving the factory I felt that mine
was a safe queen. I sold it with the rest of my safe queens.

Years ago I bought a NIB Ruger Flat Top in 44 magnum . The anniversary model in the red box . It had never been fired after leaving the factory . I knew if I kept it I would end up shooting it . It needed to be a safe queen for a collector and that's just where it ended up . Regards Paul

You will like it once you shoot it. I had one for about 30 years and sold it,like my Dad said everything is for sale for the right price.

I shot it yesterday, and it is now my favorite .357 Mag.

And I'd say your Dad was pretty much right. I only have one gun I absolutely would not sale.

Found mine about a year ago. Estate gun in my local shop. Paid too much but I got tired of looking. Great revolver, not sure why Smith never did another run in the Classic series.
