S&W Model 547 Question

Just bought a 547 and the only thing missing was a
cleaning kit. I have several kit's and am tring to put
together the right one. 4" cleaning rod and a brush I
have, was wondering if it came with a swab? Thanks

I bought one new in 1987, 3" with a round butt. If I remember correctly, it had the standard cleaning set, aluminum cleaning rod, bronze brush, and swab in a plastic sleeve. Since it is a fixed sight revolver, it probably did not come with a sight adjustment tool (aka screw driver).

Timbo is right gjamison, here's a picture of the issue stuff: you can see the standard issue cleaning kit there, no sight tool for the flattop. Congrats on your 547, you're a member of the auto/revolver club now! Pics, please!

I do not recall a swab coming with my 547.

gjamison, I was going on my often faulty memory. Like I said, I bought my 547 in 1987 and have moved a time or two in the interim. Cleaning kits from my various S&W have been shuffled about. I am pretty sure it included at least a brush and a rod. Thanks to M2MikeGolf and tekarra for the exact story.

Sorry guys, missed the swab mention earlier...mine did not come with one. Bore brush and rod did and the issue bag was sealed, not resealed, and the seller was very reputable so believe it to all be original.
