S&W model 60-2 question.

I've got a line on a S&W model 60 in .357. I emailed the guy and he said that it was a dash two. When did S&W change the 60 from a .38 to a .357? Thanks!

(Yes, I did a search and couldn't find anything, so don't lynch me!)

I don't think the -2 was a .357; I think they started with the -8, and the -10 was definitely made in .357.

Does any one know the manufactered date of the model60 searial # R2144xx ?

The magnum J-frame began with the 60-9 in 1996. I know this because I own one. I have also never seen anything written about 60's pre -9 ever being chambered in .357 mag.
