S&W Model 617

Anybody have problems ejecting spent cartridges in the Model 617? I’ve put 500 rounds of Federals through it with no problem. Tried Winchesters and Remingtons and could not eject the spent cartridges after shooting 10 rounds.

Some 22RF cartridges are "dirtier" than others. If you find a brand that works good with your revolver stick with it. I have a 617-6, and it had "sticky extraction", I did the reaming of the chambers with a Manson Finishing Reamers, and have no problems with any brand now.

I have a 617-6 and have experienced the same thing. Some ammo is hotter than others, and some have thinner brass which expands more. Federal is not really hot and makes good, and easy to eject, plinking ammo.
