Hey all. Been a long time fan of the forum and finally decided to join. Im an avid S&W and Colt collector and shooter. I have found a rifle that my S&W book tells little about and offers only "X" in the value columns. I have located a very pristine example of a S&W Model D 243 made by Husqvarna with a full Mannlicher stock. Im mainly trying to determine value of the rifle alone. The purchase will include a scope i dont want and ammunition i do not need. I can sell those items to help out some but i figure scope and ammo to equal $400. The package will run me 1,200 so thats about $800 for the rifle. Id rather own a few more revolvers but i need a long gun for my collection. Any help appreciated. Thanks in advance.

Yes i will try. I hope to look at it again tomorrow. Ill be leaving for deer camp tomorrow night so i may have to look at it when i get back.

In my opinion unless it is virtually mint the price is to high for what you are getting. That could be just me but I doubt that I would pay that for it unless it had a magnificent highly grained stock as I like mannlicher stocks.

Yeah im feeling the same way. I just know very little about S&W long guns. Im back in town today then will be headed back to the woods the rest of the week. Ill try to post pictures of it later. Thanks for your help!
