627 V-Comp range report

Spent the morning at the range with the newest S&W and was extremely pleased (at least for the initial shoot) was the results.

Started at 15 yards and found my "north/south" to be very good but I seemed to pull everything left. I moved to 10 yards and SLOWED down and like magic, held groups at pretty much 6".

Backed out to 15 yards again and stayed pretty much in that same range.

Ammo was factory Mag-Tech 158 gr. and as I was indoors, wind was not a factor.

Trigger was a completely new sensation to me. Very smooth and it seems like a short stroke to me, but that might have been my imagination.

I one thing I noticed immediately is that the gun seemed very heavy with a definite weight forward cant.

I'm excited to experiment more next week ......

Thanks,

Doug

Hi guys. After selling my 19-4 and 36, years ago, I'm back on S&W forum (that wishes his birthday even to the frenchy I'am) with my new Performance Center 627VComp. I'm glad to find again the Hogue grip (that didn't exist for the Manurhin MR73 I just sold) but the best point is the compensator. I now have to tame it but the first shots were pleasant.
Do you know, please, if an 8 rounds speed-loader is born, since a 2008 S&W topic ?

Not the V-Como but I do own a 627-5PC 8 shot 357 and it is a sweetheart and yours is just as beautiful. Congrats, very nice looking gun. Mine is one of the most accurate handguns I own, I mean it will shoot everything. It's become my default test gun for handload testing.

I too use Speedbeez for mine. Not a speedloader or se but the best moons I've found.
