I have been considering getting a PPK/S for my collection for a few years, and I'm curious as to what people have experienced with S&W's Walthers. Are the old German imports that much better, or are the US made pistols just as good?

Me too. I bought a S&W PPK when they first came out and it was miserable. Having purchased one in the past year, I have found it to be faultless and has yet to jam or failed to fire. Accurate, too, and as much as I like my "real" Walther, the Smith & Wesson version doesn't leave that distinctive double track on the web of my hand that my German model does.

I bought a S & W made Walther PPK/s two years ago. Very fine weapon. Sent it back for recall. No problems at all. Shoots well. Sights a little small, other than that, very happy with it.

I picked up one of the S&W PPK/s and I love it. I just need to have some high viz sights installed

I love my S&W PPK. Shoots great, reliable, and no slide bite. It's a keeper.
