Hello All

I have a Reg. 357 I bought 6 yrs ago the grips you see are a cheap 10$ set I put on it. The grips it came with are Ivory steer head the grip screw was stripped. It has a 5" bbl gold bead front sight and u notch rear Reg number 1577 If any one can give an idea what they think the value is that would be great. I have been thinking of getting the factory letter on it. Think you have to get that from Mr. Jinks

Thanks

I think any Reg Mag is worth a factory letter for several reasons. First, it might have been shipped to a famous name or law enforcement agency, and that helps value. Second, it tells us what configuration the gun shipped in.

To be frank, your gun is a non-factory reblue. It is a relatively good job compared to most, but not as good as a factory refinish.
That hurts it.
Your best bet is get the letter, and then try to find the value.

Thanks for the candid answer knew it was a re-blue.Was not sure on hit on value.

It seems to have correct sights and hammer, that is good. Stocks are gone, original finish is gone, money can repair those if you want. If it is in good mechcanical shape you have a shooter collectable which I like.

It is worth 1K$ to 2K$ depending on who wants it. How does it shoot?

Any Reg. Mag. is worth getting a Factory letter and the digitized documentation from the S&WHF, as the value of the gun often increases far more than the cost of the documents. It's a no brainer! Ed.

I can not lie never shot it yet. Thought about it but back out!
mechanicaly tight, bore is good. No good reason not to shoot it

Letter It

I love it. Definitely worth a letter. Not original, but appears to be in very nice shape. Must have been re-blued by a Colt fan as they blued the hammer and trigger as well.

Congrats on a fun gun.
