S&W Revolver mfg.dates

Hi,
Just signed up,want to find the mfg. dates of my revolvers. I found my N frame info here, but need a J frame and K frame dates.
A Model 66-1 #33xx3 and a Model 49 J20xx57. I have read some great stuff on this site,and would like to say thanks in advance for any info available.

Welcome to the forum. According to SCSW, your model 49 dates to 1973-74. As for your 66-1, you need to re-check the serial number, what you have listed appears to be incomplete.

It should have a K prefix. Serial number is on the butt of the grip frame, you may have to take off grips to find it.

I took the # from the cylinder area,the corect # is 92kxx69. I had searched the net for this info and no luck, thanks to people like you guys it can be found.

The 92K prefix puts it as shipped in 1981, probably.
