I've been watching this board figuring that if the new SD line is gaining market share then I'd see evidence here. So far the posts have been few and far between. Anybody know how these are selling. Actual numbers sold would be great.

I bought one each 9mm and 40 S&W. Anybody else?

I don't have one yet, but I will in the near future. I know that my local gun shop has been selling them. He advised that they don't sell as well as the SW9VE but keeps pace with the Ruger SR9 (which is probably equal in price point).

I bought the 40 and it is a better gun than the 40ve i had which i sold.

SD40 vs 40VE

I bought the 40 and it is a better gun than the 40ve i had which i sold.

I agree.

About same size.

Grip is good on both.

Trigger pull is much better in SD40.

Just polish the trigger bar where it contacts the striker block plunger to make pull smoother.

Just the face of the angle not the top.

Enjoy!

I to am interested in the SD9 and asked at Smith if and when a Mass version would be available..Sounds like they are not interested in making
a version that can be sold in the state it is made in Wonder why ??

I have both but rarely shoot the 9mm, got it for the wife.
I love my sd40 and carry it about as much as my M&P40c.

The local gun shops in my area can't keep the SD9/SD40 in stock.I finally found one to check out in person but found a great price on GunBroker for my purchase. The only guns that I would buy online are new in box after checking one out before the purchase.I am impressed with the SD9 and carry it daily.

Picked up a SD9 this week. Other options on the table were Ruger SR9 and Springfield XD9. After holding all of them, the SD9 felt right and it is what I went with. I will be carrying that one soon as my CCW application is approved. Local store had it for a price comparable to budsgunshop (after FFL fee) and figure the good will of going with a local store is worth the few extra bucks.

I will be picking up the SD40 also.

sd9

I am a newbie and got the SD9 as Christmas gift...I have put 300 rounds through it so far...I have nothing to compare it to as this is my first handgun...and am just beginning to feel a little more comfortable with it...so far so good..

I got my SD 9 end of the week and finally got a chance to take it to the range today. I put about 200 rounds through it, and I have to say, I am extremely impressed with this weapon. It shoots as smooth as ice and has absolutely no recoil for its compact size (for reference, it is identical in size, even slightly thinner, to the Glock 19 - you could definitely carry this one). By my 3rd and 4th mag I was shooting 2 inch spreads at 20 feet, which, for a basic, inexpensive 9 is not too shabby. Time will tell, but my preliminary indications are that this is one heck of a value at the price point.

Nice to hear! I went out again yesterday with my dad (he brought his XD9 and 38 Special Airweight). He was very impressed with the SD9 but it didn't fit his hand like the XD did (and conversely his XD9 didn't feel right in my hand). However it shot well and he was impressed that there were no failures with cheap ammo (we picked up 400 rounds of Monarch just to see). I'm now at 700 rounds in two weeks with my SD9 and no issues whatsoever.

Decided that I'm picking up an Airweight too, since I liked it so much.

I keep looking at the 9mm SD. Much better looking then the Sigma and the trigger is way better. I got to say I like it and would buy one. But I need another 9mm like I need another hole in my head!

I'm trying to justify me buying owning a full sized auto. I kind of like the SD but then again, I like the M&P better and I can buy the M&P for 15-25 bucks more than the SD.

Holy crap. Where are you finding these $350 M&P's? The SD's can be had for around $335 NIB. Unless we are talking LE Agency pricing. I rarely see commercial M&P's for less than $450.

sd40

well just went and got my 1st "SD" in 40 cal...so far i like it but i did find that on both mags when full of ammo it rattles like badly..neither my sigma or M&P mags do that ...anyone else have that problem ??

All my S&W mags rattle when full unless I slap them against something to seat the ammo. Sigma, SD, M&P.

BTW did you do the yellow yourself?

So it is just crayon wax? Wouldn't that melt after a long range session?
