S&W Semi-Auto Picture Thread

mgo: Re the holes in the hammers of Model 39s; I don't know why they were there, but there's a lot of variation. All three of mine (two 39 no dash and one 39-2) have them. But I've seen both varieties without the hole; perhaps it depended on how they were feeling that day at Springfield.

Here is a better pic of a favorite 5" 5906, with its' trusty sidekick the 640-1. Two comforting carry pieces.

Why are some slides flush while others not?
Difference in production dates?

More likely, it's the difference in manufacturing. The bottom two are Performance Center pistols. The major parts, slide, frame and barrel, travel with each other through the process and are hand-fitted. On the top pistol, it just came from an assembly line process.

My new polymer guns

Here are the newest members of the family. I'm normally a metal frame guy, but these two followed me home one day.

My daily carry, CS45 Stainless ambi-safety. Big Dog's extended grips and bases from the 4513TSW. XS 24/7 express night sights. A little strip of grip tape on the front of the grip makes a world of difference in controllability.

Thanks, I'm sending it in today for some weird firing pin issues. I have a feeling it's from sitting in the safe for the last 6 years. They are also going to "fix", wink, my trigger issue. I just hope it can be repaired because I really want it back.

I sent a SW99 in last year for a 'gritty trigger' ;) and the pistol came back better than it was new.....very smooth for a DAO

2 new 1911's I picked up at the dealer last week. I have a 1911PD Commander size that should be in any day...

You can't have just one.
