I gave this to my grandson as a carry piece to replace the Makarov he'd been carrying.

4506 recent acquisition

Back in the late 80s or early 90s I bought a new 4506. In 98 I traded it off. I had been hungering lately to get another so this is what I wound up with. From all I can gather from research on this forum it's a late model example. No original box, but it's practically flawless, it may never have been fired. I intend to contact S&W for a production date. BTW, my first post on this forum! On edit: I called customer service and it's born on date is 11/23/99.

Here is my early 1980s Model 469. Totally unremarkable, carried lots, shot little, and 100% reliable with any bullet type I have used (not "run") in it, including cast lead.

The original factory 12 round blued magazine is in place for the picture, but I also have a spare factory 12 round SS magazine not shown in the picture.

Before

For those with a really good eye and was gonna call BS... the original slide. LOL

It's been getting warmer out so I pressed this into service. I swapped the sights for Trijicon SA08s, did a detail strip and clean and removed the magazine disconnect. The mag it came with kept double feeding, so that one has been put away, but the two 12rders that I bought seem to be working just fine. About 300rds (200 124gr NATO and 100 Federal HST 124gr) and she ran like a top. The hammer spring and polish of the drawbar is next on the agenda.

My babies.

I just picked up the 6906 a couple weeks ago, working on fixing her up, but she's already a nice shooter. I know this is the semi board, but I love my revolvers, too. And my long guns.

I sent mine to S&W Performance Center who did a complete overhaul of my 6906 inside and out. Going to send my 4506 when I get back from TDY
