Do these pictures of the S&W Shield magazines look ok to you? On the S&W website, the magazines are flush against the Shield in their pictures, but my two magazines don't seem to be totally flush when inserted. By the way, it looks this way whether loaded or unloaded.

I thought I would ask some of you with the Shield if yours looked this way too. It's looked this way from day 1, and I have taken it to the range twice and put around 250 rounds through it with no problems with the magazines or feeding.

Thanks for all of the replies. Yeah, mine fires great and no problems so far.

Off topic--do you think it's possible to interchange barrels and magazines between the Shield 9 and 40 (much like the Sig 250 models)? Or would the 40 be a little too big to interchange?

I emailed S&W about the magazines and if they appeared normal from the pictures I emailed them. They didn't say if it was normal or not, but said I could send them the gun and magazines and they would check it out. Said about a 3 week turnaround time. I haven't had any problems with the magazines feeding so I guess I'll just wait until or if I have problems.

I put a black ring around the bottom of the magazines with a felt marker so the magazine would blend in with the frame. It turned out to be a little bit reflective, so I may try a flat black paint. This not necessary of course, just a personal touch.
To date none one on the forum has reported swapping barrels on the shield. S&W says not too, but if anyone tries this please let us know.

Mine looks the same. I have no issues, and hadn't had misfire.
