Bullet bob where did the grips on that Model18 come from?

Glad to see so many fans of El Paso Saddlery. I'm not expecting to be jumping around, so I usually order mine with a hammer thong instead of a strap.

...they are breathtaking.

I thought I would resurrect this thread to show off my two new Threepersons holsters from LoboGunLeather.

The snubby is a Model 19-3. Keeping in the retro frame of mind with the Tyler t-grip. It just happens to be what I consider the best way to make the factory magnas usable.

The left-handed holster with the Model 63 is my brother's Christmas present from me. The holster, not the Kit Gun.;) He has an identical 63. Again, I believe the T-Grip adds to the nostalgia of the whole package, while making the little j-frame stocks a little more hand filling.

I'm thinking my next project for Ray might involve my Colt New Frontier .357 (I have about decided to keep it;)) and a carved or basket weave Threepersons holster with a rawhide thong rather than a strap. Would that combo make a good BBQ rig?

S&W Holsters made the 01 style with a hammer protector which is sometimes called the FBI style holster. A Tom Threeperson with hammerprotecter (which protects the jacket lining from the hammer spur).

The "hammer protector" is intended to keep the cover garment from snagging on the hammer and rear sight. Generally credited to Hank Sloan, and holsters with this feature are usually refered to as "Hank Sloan style".

Very popular from mid-60's until the early-80's.

Back in 1955 I received a copy of "Sixguns" by Keith. I had to have a Colt SA in 44 Spec.Took me 2 years to find a pre war SA. Then I had to have a Geo. Lawrence #120 holster for the 7 1'2 " bbl. Still have the old gun & holster. Both are in fine shape, wish I was in that good a shape.

Thanks for reviving this thread, I hadn't read it before. Some beautiful holster photos posted! I wish people wouldn't post that they find these in "used holster" boxes -- I claw through every box of old gunleather I find at LGS's & gun shows and have yet to find anything near as cool as any of the holsters shown. About the best I've ever done is a couple of different Bianchi #5's from the 70's or 80's- not bad but certainly no floral SD Myres.
