Good Sabbath Day to you this morning!

A cloudy morning in Dixie with rain in the forecast. 72 degrees at the moment, tomato plants are blooming and growing like crazy.

My lovely wife is still not feeling well, some days are better than others. Please continue to pray for her, actually both of us.

The gray squirrels and demon ground squirrels are trying to take over the neighborhood. They are digging holes in the yard, and I'm afraid they will discover the tomatoes about the time for ripening, then I will declare war on them, if not before.

As most of you know, today is a special day of remembrance. If you don't know, do a search for June 6, 1944, then read everything available to you and reflect on what happened and how it affects you today. I was about 8 months old at the time, but as I was growing up I well remember hearing about the special days to remember from the recent wars.

I have always loved to read, and while attending school I read everything I could get my hands on about the different battles, especially the naval victories. I am reliving some of that while reading the great thread called "Snubby in Vietnam" or something similar.

We had a pretty good jam last Thursday down in the den. I don't get out much since the MBH is not doing well, so some of my picking friends come over and we scrub off a tune or three. They are good pickers so I have to stay on my toes to keep up with them.

Ya'll enjoy the Sabbath, I am gonna try and make the worship service this morning. The Sabbath is all about Him you know.

Have a blessed day,

God bless the USA,

Leon

Good Sabbath Leon,

Praying for you and your wife.

We had a great walk this morning. We are going to have to get used to sweltering humidity. The days are getting very long. Daylight at 6am now. We love the seasons.

A close friend just returned from the west coast. I helped him unload his RV trailer the other night. He was so glad to get some assistance. Many hands make for light work. Sometimes a simple gesture goes a long way.

My oldest son, the guitar player, found two good deals on guitars this week in Birmingham. He got both a custom shop Les Paul and a custom G&L Tribute ASAT. He'd been looking and saving for quite a while. Big investments, but I'm happy for him.

We were glad to see that the fox didn't get the Canada goslings.

Quigley had his annual check-up and shots this week. He had a great report which is a blessing.

We are headed to Alabama next weekend to see our fourth granddaughter's dance recital. She is a ballerina.

I hope to shoot in our .22 match on Tuesday. Can't wait, really!

Wishing all a blessed week!

Prayer up for you both.

Update: we took Lindsey to the orthopedic surgeon and he said her foot is healing nicely and she won't require surgery. She will have to wear the cast for another 6-8 weeks.

Ruthie, the boys and I, are headed out to spend the day with my youngest and her tribe in neighboring Butler County.

There will be adult beverages so get an interpreter ready in case I am typing in tongues later.

Good afternoon to everyone. It was a fun week with the gun show yesterday and the Patsy Cline tribute show I treated myself to Friday night.

My uncle and I had our morning texts and so my aunt, uncle and I know that we are all OK for another day. They live about 4 blocks from me and I help their children look after them. The day I retired my uncle said we needed to call or text each other every day, and we have done that every day since I retired 5 1/2 years ago. It's good to have someone who is actively concerned about your well being.

The Pirates are on TV so I guess I'll watch the game while waiting for it to get cool enough out to walk the neighborhood.

Everybody take care of yourselves today and remember on this annniversary of D-Day what was done for freedom 77 years ago.

Beautiful day here in the Sierras. I went to a friends daughters graduation party yesterday from high school. She is off to college in the fall. Lots of food & drinks & cake. A nice turn out of about 35 people. Room got a little noisy for this old guy. Just kicking back today, balanced my check book, etc. Turned on the TV & expected some WW2 movies but nothing yet. Maybe I expect too much about our history. Any way have a good , my friends.

On a related subject: Any one ever read the historical novel "Away All Boats" by Kenneth Dodson? I read it as a kid, and saw that it was made into a movie a little while ago.

Have a blessed day,

Leon
