Ole Joe Clark
Absent Comrade
Good Sabbath Morning Ya'll!!
A beautiful Sabbath day in the Heart of Dixie, clear skies and abundant sunshine here. It makes me feel good to see it, even if it is a camera view.
As usual, there are several sad threads on the board today, and a few happy ones.
The young trucker that passed in Georgia, at the age of 29, brings us back to reality with a sudden jar to our senses. Our usual reaction, mine at least, is the gut wrenching feeling of helplessness, then a whispered prayer for strength and blessing for the loved ones remaining. I've noticed in recent months a lot of threads about missing friends, comrades and acquaintances. It keeps hammering me with thoughts of the hereafter and if I am ready for that moment. It took a while, but I know that life isn't easy, and getting old "ain't" for sissies. So, I'm not only a Certified Old Geezer, but I am a tough one too!!
Speaking of sorrow, lots of sad football fans around today, and an equal number that are really happy. Both the teams that the MBH and I root for were on the loosing side yesterday. But, it's only temporary, I didn't loose any sleep over the losses, or wins.
As I told one of the Ladies on Friday night: "Get over it" when I trumped the bird with the black 4 in Rook. So, if your team lost, "get over it" and put on your happy face today. There are lots of important things to be happy about.
I am happy that I found some 22LR cartridges at WM on Friday at prices comparable to pre virus days. On Tuesday, after everybody has gone back to work I hope to get to the range and try some of them out.
Enough!!
I expect all of you to have a great and blessed Sabbath, don't forget to get out and worship Him. By the way, how about thanking Him for another day.
Leon
