Ole Joe Clark
Absent Comrade
Good Sabbath Morning to you!
It's a damp and cool Sunday morning today in the Deep South. Breakfast is finished except for a little lukewarm coffee left in the cup. My MBH did her usual great job with some bacon, eggs, and biscuits, with all the trimmings.
I was pleasantly surprised to see Chip's (Mule Packer) hunting trip photos posted already. I suspected they were in the mountains since he hadn't posted on the forum recently.
Had a fairly calm week here, a few Doctor appointments and such, prepping us for the next couple of weeks, which will be busy. I got hooked up with a new, to me, heart Doctor, since ours up and died about a year ago. Of course now I have a ream of appointments, tests, monitors, etc., etc., over the next few weeks. There must be money to be made giving tests, to verify what the previous Doc had already found.
We are having regular Worship Services again at Church today, since everybody has survived the virus, thank the Lord. I will be glad to get back in the Sunday routine of gathering at His house to worship, and seeing friends. I shouldn't say routine, since it certainly is not routine to worship Him.
Supposed to turn cool and dry about mid week, with possible lows in the 40's. A pleasant change in the weather, and a perfect time to get to the range and almost anything outside.
Speaking of range time. I had a good visit to the range last Tuesday, accompanied by some old, like me, .22's. I discovered that used prescription bottles are very wasteful. As in wasting shells trying to make them jump with the MKII's at 25 yards. It sure was fun though. I did some better with the old Marlin bolt action, that I struggle with. It has a horrible trigger, but it still shoots right where it's pointed when I shoot.
Enough!!!
My ramblings seem to go on and on.
Have a blessed Sabbath Day, do something for someone that can't pay you back, besides telling them you love them.
Leon
