I'm having a hard time composing this post. I just received a call tonight that my cousin Billy, who I literally grew up with from childhood, passed away today. His mom and my dad were sister and brother, and our immediate families were very close. We did a lot of neat things together after we grew up. As we both grew up in northern Ohio, as Cleveland Indians fans we went to Baltimore to be extras in the filming of the movie "Major League II." Billy was an Elvis Presley fan, and Billy put on a bash for his 50th birthday as Billvis, complete with a band, and had a show for all of us as an Elvis tribute artist. We also studied French together at Georgetown University. I would go down to the Metro Station near his apartment, and them we would ride a bus together that took us to the school.
Billy had some health issues over the last few years, and I was probably the family member who lived the closest to him. When he was in the clinic for dialysis for the first time I made sure to go down to see him in Maryland and tell him that if he needed anything to be sure to call me. We had a lot of fun together and he will be missed by our family.
