An AR selector will not fit, the receivers are not the same width. Never fear, though, there is a 15-22 specific replacement. It isn't cheap, though.

But it IS worth the money. I have one with the standard crank lever on the port side and a thin short lever on the starboard side.

A standard AR15 safety selector will not work on the 15-22. The lower receiver of the 15-22 is a bit wider than the AR15 lower. If you want a direct replacement because it is worn out you can call S&W, or if you want, I sell 1 or 2 lever safety selector kits for the 15-22 with several different lever options.

Botheration. I just remembered my daughter is left handed.

So I'll need an ambi safety, ambi mag release and an ambi charging handle. I guess I can use a standard one and let her charge with her shooting hand.

sorry if this has already been covered. How much work would it be if you were to make a version for one end to sit flush like the stock lever? I am not sure if it would be worth it price-wise for you, but it is something I would be interested in.

I love the idea of having a metal safety selector switch where I can select different design levers. However, I am right-handed and have no need for a switch on the other side. I know you make an end cap, but it looks a bit odd to me having it not sitting flush with the receiver.

I am pretty sure there is a market for people who would want a metal safety switch that doesn't protrude on the other side.

Just a thought.

thanks drunk3n, but like gopher said, that is the design i was talking about that i don't like.

i really appreciate that they brought a metal safety switch to market, but i would prefer that it look like a "real" AR's switch. the end cap kind of takes away from the clean design, imho.

i know it would cost more to make a second design, but it is already 99% there.

anyways, just typing my thoughts.

oh my bad I see what your saying, I am sure simple weapons solutions can come up with something since like you said 99% of the design is already there.

Two different designs would have to be made due to the safety detent is on the right side of the rifle. One design to have the lever on the right side, and one design for the left side. It would not be cost effective to machine and stock 3 separate designs when you have one that will do it all.

Can you use a full length left handed lever or will it interfere when shooting right handed?

It would be better to use on the of the shorter levers such as the Short, Short Crank, Short Thin. The Standard Thin and Hybrid levers will work too.

Just a reminder ...

If you don't need an ambi selector and simply need a left-handed selector - TURN THE SELECTOR AROUND. IT GOES BOTH WAYS!

Remove the grip, slowly, until you can remove the spring and detent, remove and reverse the selector, reinstall the detent, spring and grip.

Takes all of three minutes.
