Sambar Stagaholic

About 50 years ago, I recall buying a very nice pair of K sq butt sambar at a gun show in Baltimore for $2 -- TWO dollars !! A few years after the Ruger Redhawk first came out, I bought a great sambar pair for it for $18 at a show in Harrisonburg ,Va. He wanted $20 and I "negotiated" :)
Oh my ....Lots and lots of sambar come and gone is BURNED in to my memory !!

Sambar Stag can be very different obviously. Here are 2 knives, one a Limited Edition Buck Model 118 and the other a Randall Model 14. The Sambar Stag on both of them is similar. No deep grooves or "popcorn". So which do you like better, the type in my original post with grooves and popcorn, or the type on these two knives?
Larry
