Shot my Savage M11 in .223 yesterday. Fired from a bipod and from a rest. I shot a total of 15 rounds fired in three 5 round groups. My cold barrel shot was always at the 7 o'clock position of the bull in the 10 X ring. The rest grouped higher, except when the "Loose Screw" behind the trigger had a faux pas in aiming. Was using home brewed ammo. It is a 52 Gr Sierra Match King with 25.4 Grains of H-335 powder. I figure 15 shots all in the X-Ring at 100 yards is about as good as this old man can do. happy with the setup.

Looks good to me. Being older does not have positive benefits to my accuracy either. I have one of the Cabella's Savages that they used to run on sale at a good price. It's a 223 also. Had it for several years and have not shot it. Guess I need to break it out one day soon and see if I can keep them in the 10 ring at least.

I have a Savage 12V, single shot heavy barrel in .223. Never did any fiddling with the rifle itself, but did a little load development. Will shoot 1/2"-3/4" 5 shot groups at 100 yards with about any load tried. More than good enough for my needs, am not a bench rest shooter.

Some friends have the M12 Savage. One has a .223 and the other a .308. The friend with the .308, shot F1 with his and did well enough to win several matches.

How are you shooting your at 100 yards if not benched? Off-Hand, sitting or prone? Our range is pretty much set up for bench rest or off-hand.Win52D Benched.jpg
This is my Winchester M52D on our range.
