OC is legal in Ct, is it not? If you're so against it then join Malloy in his efforts to restrict gun rights.

Open Carry advocates actually end up doing the bidding for people like Malloy, not me.

Open Carry does not help our cause in any way.

WHY DIDN'T YOU DO SOMETHING ABOUT IT???

kbm is retired NYPD. Realistically, there's not much he could've done aside from call the police, but I also doubt they would've been appreciative of his "heads up" much less the basis for it.

As for the people calling for a thread lock, he did bow out and stop posting to this thread after the almost overwhelming backlash. I'm not saying you folks are wrong, but I'm merely pointing out that the fire only keeps burning because others are fanning it. ;) (ETA: Incidentally, kbm would probably tell me he doesn't need any defending from the likes of me, but hey... I believe in fairness.)

I don't think a lock is needed. Just let the thread peter out and fade into obscurity. The newest responses are totally understandable, but also aren't really accomplishing much else because their target more likely than not isn't coming back to this thread.

As for "punishing" the OP, well... That's up to Lee and his team. I have nothing to say pro or con in that regard.

I have spent most of my adult life as a people watcher as part of my job and as a hobby. I worked security for 35 years and I can easily believe the OP.
Yeah, we can "guardhouse lawyer" a 100 possiblitys like a defense lawyer but this aint a murder trial. The PC crowd has been fighting "profiling" for many years. You can bet all law enforcement does it most of their shifts but they arent about to admit it. I guarantee you the secret service is trained to, PC or not to guard the president because in reality it works far more than it dont. I know we cant be the only ones to profile, I am sure just about everyone but the most nieve does it but keeps their mouth shut.
This attitude has been carried to extreams to show "how unjudging and fair we are to the point that we have heard complaints of airport security checking 80 year old grandmas and letting mideast types wearing robes through without much hassel to prove that we arent prejudiced. I have seen several examples similar to what the OP said, maybe not quite as extream but in two cases in the last year I also thought both were a brick short. Probley legal, but a little something wrong there. No, I didnt stick my nose in it as they werent that bad.

Threads like this one is very useful to all members here,
as we can see by the many posts of varying opinions.....

Posters true colors come out, their true convictions shine forth.

We really get to know one another....

Some folks we find, that are like minded, and others we want to stay the hell away from.

I understand the OPs concerns....

I've thought for year my MIL was crazy as they come.
Pretty sure the doctors have her on some kind of mind altering drugs,
I even searched through her big cabinet she calls a medicine chest.

But getting a Judge to see it my way is an whole other story.

By the way, she carries a pistol and a tomahawk.........

Oh, of all the things we can glean from threads like this! ;):D

That's All Folks

I don't know what Orange mode means. Is that open carry code or something?

That is a reference to Jeff Cooper's "Color Codes of Awareness." - I may have the exact title incorrectly phrased. Cooper devised a series of steps one should go through in becoming aware of and reacting to a potential self defense situation, progressing from white to yellow to orange to red. Some have added black and a description to go with it, but Cooper's code stopped at red. I won't go into the details, as they are easily available with your favorite search engine, but I will mention that orange may be a little much for a casual conversation with a stranger with no other indicators of a problem, but to each his own.
