Those are some beautiful RSRs. I am extremely jealous!!!!!!!
How can I find out what parts my 4690 are made of?
I called RSR and they don't want to talk to a non-dealer. Bummer ! I went to a local gun dealer and he said right away that it looked to hold a clip from a 6906 and verified with his own personal clip. He then led to saying they are VERY hard to come by. He is looking into it right now.
I personally did not like this guy. He was very "well this and well that" and when I asked for a value, he went to his book and said he could not find anything. I believe that, as I already had someone look it up and they did not find it either. He then told me he got his SS 6906 for $250 and my 4690 was at most $350. I did explain that there were only 293 made, and he said that did not mean much.
Looking at the RSR web site for clips, the mag for a S&W 6906 looks exactly like my magizine. I pulled the part number (MGSW19351) and began searching for them and only found 2 places that had them in stock. All the rest were sold out and could not be backordered. I am thinking this is the right magizine, but would love to know for sure before ordering.
Is there any info that can be shared with me to help ensure I am looking at the correct part?
Thanks in advance,
Michael

Welcome!
There's just not a lot of info on these transitional 2nd-to-3rd gens out there. The Standard Catalog of Smith and Wesson doesn't list a 6453. It shows the 6450 as "quite rare", 6451 as "rare", and a 6452 also as "rare". The 4th digit being a 3 suggests that it has an alloy frame as opposed to stainless.
It would be nice if you could post some closeup pics. These RSR transitionals are at the very least scarce, and at best quite rare. Since the SCSW doesn't list it suggests it may be rare, or quite rare. They've become very collectible and it helps to have the original box, magazines, cleaning brush and papers. Values are all over the map (especially lately) but if it's condition is excellent, they are worth significantly more to the right collector.
Good afternoon. Just came across your post and would like to see if anyone has any info on my 45. I haven't seen any other one on the market, and have no idea the value either. The only ones I was able to find in the same model is the 9mm. But not the .45.
Anyways thanks for your help and hopefully you like my picture.
Very nice! Here's my RSR 6690 transition gun.

Is this the same size as the 3913/14, 908/ Ladysmith, etc. except wider grip of double-stack? Or is it a larger frame duty size??
Also, what does RSR stand for?
Thanks - Rick
