Nah... it's cool. That said, if I offended anyone, I apologize.
I have traveled to a lot of places, never seen one that I clearly preferred to Minnesota. I could live in northern California, and just about any place from the Rockies on west. Never saw anything in Texas that made me want to live there (and I have never been there in summer) or any place east of the Mississippi.
Wait, I live east of the Mississippi, but not so far east I can't cross it in 20 minutes. I guess I could tolerate Sconny, too, and the UP.

Nah... it's cool.I knew you were just braggin a little about where you live. Sometimes I hear the term Yankee here in SC, and I just don't have a frame of reference. My people landed on Ellis Island in the 1890's and stayed in Brooklyn.
To me Yankee is a team and Damn Yankee is when they lose.![]()
Have you ever spent time in, Big Bend or East Texas? Thems are some pretty places.![]()
I drove from the Pittsburgh airport to Warren, Ohio for the first time last week. It was gorgeous in that area.Western Pennsylvania ...... "The Burgh" is not a bad place to live......
no earthquakes, mud slides, Forest fires, hurricanes......... few tornadoes.... the only flooding is if you are within the narrow flood plains along streams and rivers.....maybe 2 "heavy" snowstorms a year which are cleaned up or gone in 2-3 days..... an ice storm every 2-3 years.....again impact is 24-48hrs............few days of 90 degrees plus..... fewer days below zero......
That said we could use a few more sunny days.........a bit muggy time to time in the summer....... but not like the deep south ......... we have AC ....... and even better we have the mountains and forests to retreat to.........I've got a big oak tree next to the cabin that always has a nice breeze blowing by............................and in the evening we are still allowed to sit around a nice outdoor fire pit in the summer or have a wood burning fire place Oct to April........
There are lots of reasons "The Burgh" has been named the most livable city more than once...... plus we got the Steelers Pens and Pirates.......
.......A nice place to visit, but I wouldn't want to live there.
There's lots of pretty places in most of the places I wouldn't want to live.
About a month after moving down south, we were at a dinner party. One of the locals, after hearing where I was from said, "we don't give a d*** how you did it up north." To which I politely replied, "I'll not waste my time telling you how we did it, because you'd screw it up anyway." Never did like that guy.
