Scope???

What He Said

After much research I decided on a Nikon Prostaff EFR 3-9 X 40. Then, just now, when I couldn't put my order through at Midway, I turned around and bought a totally different scope on Ebay because I needed one NOW!:D Anyway, it's a Swift with a 50mm objective and I need advice on how to mount it. A lot of folks seem to like the Burris PEPR and it makes sense to have the rings on one base. I'm also looking at the Stoner AR mount. Any advice? What about height? Old eyes here too. BTW, Swift makes some pretty decent glass, I've had a pair of their binoculars for years...which reminds me, I'd like to trade them for something smaller, but that's another post.

If we are talking full sized scopes here and I think we are I have an extra 3x9x40mm Leupold Vari X II scope and if I install it on my 15-22 what size riser would I need and what scope mount would be the best?

I tried a weaver 3-9x40 with high Burris rings and with the caps on it was just touching the rail. I returned all of it and ordered a Bushnell 1-4x32 with leapers max strength high rings since they were less than half the price of the Burris ones. Probably a more appropriate setup for the 22 anyways.
