A friend mine came over with a model 10-6 in a box with papers selling it for someone hard up for money , I was glad to take it off his hands for 300 dollars. It has a 4 inch heavy barrel and is excellent condition.

Sounds great but it didn't happen without pictures.

Actually Congratulations.

Welcome to the Forum from Ohio! Model 10's are nothing to sneeze at! Sounds like you got a nice one too! I have a 10-8 that was an Aussie Police gun (1981) Not a beauty queen, but she can shoot her way out of a paper bag! Enjoy your 10. Bob

You messed up big...

S&W #10's are addictive, you will not be satisfied with just one. Currently I own two #10's & two #64's (the stainless version). These are fine handguns for anyone.

That cylinder almost looks like one from a Model 13. If you just scored a magnum Model 10-6 then I am filled with hyper envy. Top that off with if you just scored it for $300... I think I would go talk to that person just to keep my conscience clear. Or I could just be looking at the picture funny and be full of bull hockey. Either way heavy barrel, square butt, pinned barrel 10's are my favorite K frames second only to Combat Magnums.
