Hi fellas, scored this nice 15-3 today from an individual off a local trading board. I think I did good for $325.00 It has about three tiny freckles on the right side of the frame and the slightest holster polish on the left end of the barrel. I haven't shot her yet, but that's soon to be done. The serial is 6k2118x (was told this was a 1976 but not sure) It had a rubber grip on it but I had these stocks laying around so...........I think she's beautiful, what say ye?

Very nice, almost a twin to my slightly older 15-3, 'cept there's NO doubt mine had been a 'workin' gun. Tight as can be but exterior had been intimate with leather for many years. (paid $200 for mine this past Spring)

Good score, congrats.

Congratulations and that one is a beauty and it should be a great shooter as they all are.

bender, I'm glad you got that one. I had to grit my teeth and force myself not to buy it. I already have a pretty good 15-3 (not as nice as yours) and I picked up a new Lipsey's Ruger I had put back at Bo Barrow's today, so I had no business buying it. I'm glad somebody on the forum got it. That is probably my favorite S&W. I know you'll enjoy it. Oh, that's a heck of a deal, too.

Thank ye fellers, I can't wait to shoot it. I had one of these back in the 80's that shot oh so good and let it slip away. This one's not going anywhere. Thanks for the update on the date. What's the name of that book again? J/K, I've got to stop buying stuff long enough to afford one.

Jim

The Standard Catalog of Smith and Wesson by Jim Supica and Richard Nahas. That book has much of what anyone that likes Smith and Wesson would want to know, and has the answers to a large percentage of the questions on this forum. I think it is a must for anyone with interest.

I would have bought that gun without a second thought.
I've been looking for one at the right price.
I know my patience will be rewarded.
Enjoy the gun.

Bought a 15-3 99% no box with target factory grips for and Model 67-1 in the same condtition . for for 800.00 OTD.

Very nice guns.

You will love shooting Your model 15.

Nice revolver!

I think that $325 was a great price. The K series revolvers, especially the models 14, 15, and 19 are my favorite Smiths. I an of fan of target grips, as well. All of my Smith revolvers are fitted with them (K, L, N) except for my Model 66 which is currently wearing a pair of rosewood finger groove "boot" grips.

Edited to add that all of my Smith revolvers wear Targets except my Model 66 and my Model 686, which is still fitted with factory rubber fingergroove Hogues with S&W logo.

In my circles , ultra clean PRE LOCK/MIM K frames in 38/357 with 4 inch barrels or less are VERY desireable and there are not many for sale.
