Hello,
I make a run to my local Gun Shop ever Monday morning to see if they took anything in over the weekend, Its been a while since I scored but today I got lucky, They had a beautiful Model 66-2 on the bottom shelf of the Smith & Wesson case all the way in the back. They had a price tag of $499.98, they came down $25.00 and I was out the door at $508.50 , I have been looking for one of these for a couple of years. I know they are available on Gun Broker but most are going for over 650.00. I feel I got a great deal on this 66, No marks, dings or scratches, no box either but that's no big deal to me.,
Anyone wanting to post pictures of there 66's would be welcome
Thanks

If they came with those Combats then you got an even better deal than you think!!!

Congratulations on your pick-up. That is a nicely spent $500 for sure.
I paid about that for mine too but not quite as nice condition. Still I'm very happy, and I bet, so are you.

At $508.50, you paid a little less than I paid, six weeks ago, for a re-import dash 1. Like you I had been half way looking for one for several years and when I located this one, I figured the price was not going to drop anytime soon so why not.

Nice buy! And great looking grips.

Here's my 66 no dash. First LEO carry gun I purchased for myself (previous 15/19/10s were issued, 1970s). It's got over 100k rounds through it. Still gets a couple hundred a week through it during the cooler months.

Pretty nice even if its not a P & R! I saw one in a local pawn shop last week. I'm going back on Saturday to check it out!

Very very nice 66! :cool:Yes I also agree with the rest, Great deal! The combats alone are worth 200 bucks. I've been trying to score a set for the passed 5 weeks and keep getting sniped.

Nice!
Paid about $150 for my 66-1, but had to carry it for 9 years to get that deal. They were sold to guys on my department when we transitioned to 1076's.

I would described what you paid for that gun as a "stupid-good deal". As, it's such a good deal, that it's stupid. :) Congratulations on your find!

Seems that Indiana's not the place for wheelin' and dealin' on old K frames.
There's a 4" 19-3 with worn target grips rusting away in a pawn shop and they want $450 for it! With all the rust that was on it I was going to offer them $350. When I asked if they could come off of it at all they told me they'd eat sales tax and that "that gun will never depreciate". Oh well.
