First off, I want to say thanks again to the forum for the warm welcome, and the help along the way deciding on 3rd generation models. I narrowed things down, and set out to find a clean 4516-2

Tonight I returned from dinner to find that I won this very clean example for $400 on auctionarms. What I'm truly amazed with is just how reasonably priced these guns are. The fact that you can get a very high quality all stainless .45, from a major manufacturer for this price is mind boggling. I really can't wait to get it in my mitts and fire off some range ammo through it.

Thanks again for all your help guys!

thanks guys! I'm really looking forward to it. I'm excited about having a very high quality .45 compact that should stand up to a ton of round due to it's all stainless construction.

Now to find a very good choice for home defense ammo. I called Corbon yesterday, and talk to one of their factory guys. They suggested 180 grain EXT, as the expasion is great and the recoil is light.

Welcome Doogy.

Very nice choice. My main carry gun is a 4516-1 and I love it. Mine is very much like yours condition wise and I too was happy to pay about $400.00 for it. The 4516 is a great gun, as are all the 4500 S&W Pistols. I have mine loaded up with Federal 230 Grain Hydra-Shoks.

Enjoy your 4516-2 when you get it. You will be very pleased.
