My first handgun purchase way back in 1984ish was the Single Six. I thought it interesting the way Ruger named it; The Ruger New Model Super Single Six. Yikes, that's a mouthful...
Still have it and it's still my favorite .22 pistol.

Single Six Old Model was the first gun I bought for myself in 1967-8, don't remember exact date. Had the mag. cylinder and a Hunter brand holster and belt.
Cost me $50.00 !!!
I got paid $2.00 to load and unload firewood that my dad cut and sold.....lots of firewood to buy that one.............
shot a mountain of rounds through it, still have it and it is still in Old Model configuration.
I even shot 2 whitetail does with .22 magnum. Distance was about 12 yards. One shot is all it took.
