Buds has the 10rd for $350ish and the 14rd for $425ish, any reason to buy the 14rd over the 10rd if you are going to use the Sigma mags?

Any concrete information on whether S&W is going to discontinue the SD series?

This will be for my wife, any thing other than plenty of range time to assure it is dependable?

Anything I need to keep on hand, small parts or springs, other than a steady diet of quality ammo?

Thanks in advance!

All the mags are expensive. There are rumors about all sorts of stuff at S&W, but I think the pistols fill a niche. Check the cost of the two magazines you would be throwing away with the 10-rounders.
It makes sense, but for some strange reason S&W made the grip bigger than the Sigma.

Who has a Sigma 9VE and an M&P 9c.

I own one and it's a great gun. I plan on putting the Apex trigger kit in it and would recommend doing the same. The heavy/long trigger pull is more like a DA revolver. For some that isn't bad and it isn't all that bad to shoot if you get use to it. I also own a M&P40 and the trigger is so much better. The Apex kit makes the SD feel more like the M&P according to those that have done it.

I live in the PRNJ, Mag capacity limited to 15 so the 16 rd mags on my sd9 were a no go, the only difference is that the 10 rd mags have an indent preventing more rds from being loaded. Same gun so if you already have a bunch of Sigma mags, I'd say save the cash and get the 10 rd model.

SD9, SD40

I sent an email to customer service at SW and the reply stated that the SD9 and SD40 were being discontinued...

Hi Albert
That info is correct
Best regards Tom

I have heard rumors that you will be discontinuing the SD line of pistols. Is this correct?

I've been considering a new trigger for my SD but Scott at Apex says there isn't one- only the spring kit. Now I am by no means a gunsmith, and not sure what I'm talking about but you can check out the thread here

But I took the rubber grip-glove off my SD and tried firing it like that- it is better than WITH the glove. I was having trouble shooting it as well as another pistol with a shorter barrel, that's why I considered a trigger kit. I really like the rubber grip but it may be the culprit with my accuracy.
