SD Triggers and Mag Extensions Coming Soon From Apex

Is this similar to the one for the M&P as far as reducing the length of trigger pull and reset?
One of my shooting buddies has that trigger and it is a beautiful thing.

Original Apex kit installed and I love it. Would enjoy playing with whatever aftermarket goodies you have to install. Count me in!!!

P.S. make a striker for the SD as the factory is braindead on this item. I would buy 3 of them just to have them in stock. The factory sells them for the MP-why not the SD. I can't believe that the SD striker assembly is any more difficult to replace than the MP -which I know is total ********!!!!! I will not buy another SW pistol until they fix this because I will NOT send my pistol back to them for a friggin' striker fix...

The first time I took this pistol apart it took me 30 seconds to put it back together and I will NOT send it back to the factory to have them put in Friggin' stiker at whatever an hour they charge......

Amen brother. I agree completely.

I would like to try out the AEK trigger and mag extensions. I would subject them to high round counts in short periods of time.

Wow, you guys are all such willing voaunteers...Next time I move I'm posting on the forums for help moving my Fiancee's piano... :D

I've chosen 5 people already to test the new line of SD parts, but I'm still looking for 3 more.

Those of you who have not received a PM from me about testing the new SD product line, may email me at [email protected]. Please send your name and forum handle along with a note asking to test the SD product line. I'll select the rest of my test group on Friday and email the group over the weekend with details on how we normally work things like this.

Thanks for all of your willingness to participate.

A quick bit of detail about the new SD products for those that are asking.

We're working on 4 different mag extension for the SD, they'll be +3 and +6 rounds in 9mm and +? and +? in 40. The 9mm versions will be released first, once we get some more R&D time in on them, we'll start producing the 40 extenders, which are likely to be +2 and +4.

The SD Polymer triggers will be released soon.....very soon.....extremely soon....If you catch my drift. The trigger will reduce some pre-travel and over travel. They'll also reduce trigger pull weight by about 1/2 lb, but the most important change is the pre-travel and over travel adjustment.

Not sure how far down a +4 extension would sit but 18 rounds of .40 cal (19 if you are using the 15 round SWF mags) sounds great!!!

ETA Will the new trigger work with the Carry/Duty spring kit installed?

Now you have me chomping at the bit for your trigger!!! I wasn't super stoked about the mag extension until you said +6 :D, I was thinking it would be +1 or 2. A +6 would be nice for a backup or bedside mag

Awesome! I was just messing with my SD9 & SD9VE the other day and wished they had the same Apex triggers as my M&P's. Now they can! I would be more than willing to be a beta tester.

sorry apex but after watching the board for months and i never thought u would indeed release the aek i tried it myself in my sd9s and ihave proved the m&p polymer aek drop in the sd pistols.
heres a link with proof other than my word: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jYDVg7WgVvY&feature=youtube_gdata_player
BUT i would love to see extensions and other mods as this is a great platform for anyone and im glad to see a company follow with interest. thank you again for your future endevours...

From Apex's site:

"This product is for use in Smith & Wesson M&P pistols only. Do not use it in a Sigma, SD or SD VE series pistol. Using this trigger in a Sigma, SD or SD VE series pistol can cause malfunctions. A new trigger specifically for use in the SD is in the works and will be available shortly."

I think I'll wait for the SD specific trigger.

i figured for those who didnt want to wait for a repackaged item to finally come out i would let you know it works great...i dont see how its not "made for" the sd as it fit with no issues and its smoother than ever now. if i said do not mix capn crunch with cocoa puffs because they dont go together we are releasing reeses puffs soon wait till then...but if you dont want to wait and i guess its disobeying a manufacturer but if it fits the same drop in with same results chances are the end sd product be the same rebadged product or have subtle changes.
i was just informing apex and individuals that wanted a aek in a sd9 that it can already be done by there already made product with no mods...how much more win win is that?

If it worked 100% I would think apex would have been selling them sooner as it would have been bringing in money to the company a long time ago.

I am sure it was tested and they found something that would cause malfunctions otherwise why take the time and money to design an SD specific one, why not just slap a "M&P/SD" on the packaging. It works for you that is good I don’t want to take that chance.

I will trust the manufacturer on this one.

It's good to know, but I agree with EBK on this one. I would try it (with testing to make sure it's reliable), but a SD model will be out soon, so I'll wait for the correct part, even if there is only a slight or no difference. If it worked for you good, just make sure you test for reliability.

true and good point....maybe not all sd's were made with the same tolerances as mine or something but i may purchase the aluminum aek if they make one for the sd...havent tried the m&p aluminum aek as of yet. i would love to see a fss kit for the sd as well but my hopes arent as high for that.
